This two hour course will teach you the fundamentals of writing for a lay audience, including:
Focusing on key messages
Putting yourself in your audience’s shoes
Cutting your word count
Words and phrases to avoid
Using active language
The course will include hands on exercises and will be hosted on Zoom.
About the trainer
This course is taught by Zoe Trinder-Widdess, Head of Communications at NIHR ARC West and the NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). Zoe is a communications professional with a strong track record of working in several sectors, including charity, public sector and business-to-business. She has been working at the intersection of health and research for the last nine years.
