Research conversations: Professional ethical guidance for AI use in healthcare
10 June 2025 5-6pm
About the event
As a registered nurse, I’m interested in the future of healthcare and keen that new technologies are brought into use safely in patient care.
I’m planning a research project to develop recommendations for guidance which will help healthcare professionals use AI ethically and safely in healthcare in the UK.
In this session, I’d like to introduce this research project to the group. I’d like to hear people’s thoughts about what I’ve got planned to make sure it will be research that is useful to people.
Our speaker
Dr Helen Smith is a Registered Nurse and Honorary Senior Research Associate in Bioethics the Centre for Ethics in Medicine at Bristol Medical School. She is interested in the ethical and legal issues that arise from the adoption of new technologies in society.
What is a research conversation?
Research Conversations are hosted by People in Health West of England and are informal sessions which are designed to give researchers and public contributors a chance to interact. Public contributors are encouraged to ask questions, learn about, and get involved in projects in their area.
