Research conversation: Improving care for women living with endometriosis
7 October 2025 5-6pm
About the event
Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth. It can cause severe pain, heavy periods, fatigue, and difficulties with fertility, yet it often takes years to be diagnosed, and treatment options can feel limited.
Isobel Ward is interested in how endometriosis is managed, to understand how care can be improved for women living with endometriosis. She has recently led research understanding what impact endometriosis has on women’s ability to work and now wants to do some research around better understanding treatment and management of this condition.
Isobel is interested in building stronger evidence around what treatments work best and for whom, and how researchers and clinicians can help improve care pathways, reduce delays in diagnosis, and make access to treatment fairer.
Our speaker
Dr Isobel Ward is a researcher at the University of Bristol. She works in applied health, focusing broadly on children and women’s health. The specific focus of her research is on using population-level health data and appropriate methodology to inform decision making and evaluate health policies and implementation.
What is a research conversation?
