2024 health and care professionals research internships now open

The 2024 research internships for health and care professionals offered by NIHR ARC West, the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) are how open for applications.

These internships offer new or recent graduates in nursing, midwifery and allied health professions the opportunity to be involved in health research in a clinical or applied setting. You should consider applying if you:

• Would like to broaden your experience of healthcare research
• Are interested in clinical research as part of your future career
• Would like to work with teams of experienced health researchers

As a research intern you will:

• Be employed by either UHBW or UWE Bristol for 5 to 8 weeks depending on the internship project
• Get to work with an experienced researcher and established research teams to undertake a project
• Gain insight into health research in clinical and applied settings and help explore future options for a research or clinical academic career
• Have the opportunity to attend a conference depending on the project and funding
• Have a line manager to support you and a project lead to guide you
