ARC West partners gather at workshop to look forward together
6 June 2023
More than 50 people from ARC West’s partnership gathered at the M Shed on Bristol’s harbourside on Friday 26 May, to consider how we can collectively achieve the most impact.
The workshop aimed to get people reconnecting face to face after the years of remote working during the pandemic. It was an opportunity to celebrate ARC West’s successes, with presentations on key work including:
Elaine Wilmore, PhD student at University of Gloucester and ARC West, presented early findings from her work with social prescribing link workers
Michelle Farr, ARC West Research Fellow, talked about Bridging Gaps, which aims to give women with complex needs better access to GP support
Karen Luyt, ARC West Healthier Childhoods Theme Lead, presented on PReCePT
It was also a forum to discuss how we all work together on ARC West projects, especially focusing on our Research Oversight Groups which represent each of our research themes.
Delegates also found out a bit more about each other through warm up exercises that got the conversation flowing.
Professor John Macleod, ARC West Director, said:
“It was fantastic to bring together so many of our partners in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Thanks to everyone who made it along to the event and participated so wholeheartedly. I hope you all left feeling as excited and energised as I did!
“The event was expertly facilitated by Liz Wiggins, so big thanks to Liz for making it such a fun day. And thanks must go to Pippa Craggs and Zoe Trinder-Widdess for organising the day and helping it run so smoothly.”
