Refreshing our training programme – we want to hear from you!
8 March 2023
The NIHR ARC West training team are running a survey to inform a refresh of our training programme. If you have ever attended one of our courses or used our online learning materials, or might in the future, we want to hear from you.
The short survey of 11 questions is open until Monday 3 April. It is designed to capture feedback on our existing programme, as well as ideas for new courses and online learning materials.
Our training programme offers more than 15 courses running several times each year which are free to attend for our partners and others in the health and care sector. We also offer online learning materials, which include bitesize materials, looking for evidence and evaluation resources.
The programme has been running for nearly eight years. In that time it has attracted more than 2,500 course attendances, with an average course rating of 3.6 out of 4.
Some of our courses are available as online self-led training resources while others are bookable face-to-face or online sessions led by topic experts. They cover topics from data visualisation to questionnaire design, and implementation to health economics.
Dr Rob Grieve, Training and Capacity Building Co-Lead at ARC West, said:
“The training programme is a jewel in ARC West’s crown. It’s been running successfully since May 2015 and has expanded over the years. I’ve recently taken over as co-lead and together with my fellow co-lead Dr Julie Mytton, we felt that now is a good time to reflect on what we’ve done so far and how the programme might develop.
“If you have ever been on one of our courses or used our online learning materials, or are in our sector and could benefit from our training, we want to hear from you.”
