Understanding the unintended consequences of implementing apps in primary care
12 June 2019
We want to hear from healthcare app developers as part of a study to improve how apps are used in GP practices.
The DECODE study aims to understand the unintended consequences of using digital health tools in primary care – both positive and negative.
We are inviting healthcare app developers to give their views through a very short survey on hyvr, the West of England Academic Health Science Network’s online social media platform for healthcare innovation. We are particularly interested in the use of apps to manage long-term conditions.
The DECODE team are interviewing patients, practice staff and commissioners for the research, as well as app developers. The findings will contribute to new guidance for development and use of healthcare apps for patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers, developers and researchers. The new guidance will aim to improve the development, implementation and evaluation of healthcare apps and other digital health tools in primary care.
To take part, follow the link below and you’ll be asked to register for hyvr and answer a short questionnaire – the whole process should only take five minutes.
