Frank de Vocht is a Reader in Epidemiology and Public Health and joined the Unversity of Bristol in 2014.

He obtained his PhD from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and previously worked at the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France, and the the University of Manchester.

He has over 120 peer-review publications broadly covering the areas of public health and alcohol-related policy and harms, radiation, environmental and occupational epidemiology, and exposure measurements and assessment. He has contributed to book chapters on epidemiology, exposure assessment and the effects of electromagnetic fields on humans. His work has been funded by NIHR, the Department of Health, the European Union and various charities. His current research interests include the evaluation of natural experiments with a special focus on public health, machine learning, and the effects of ionising and non-ionizing radiation on human health.

Dr de Vocht is further a committee member of the UK Government Independent Advisory Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment (COMARE).
